RTC Training is for runners of all ages and abilities to help them reach their running goals. RTC Training helps runners reach their potential through camps, private training, and group training. These specific training programs each provide individual instruction to help improve the runner. Our goal with every RTC program is to provide our runners with a fun, relaxing, as well as a positive running experience for all ages and abilities. These programs offer group and personalized training that develop fitness, self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running.

Rob Cavanaugh, Director

Robert attended Red Bank Catholic where he broke records on the track and soccer field and upon graduating earned All County, All Shore, and All State honors. He continued on at Division 1 Monmouth University where he excelled on the track and soccer teams and earned All East Honors for track. Rob is the founder of RTC Training.

Robert is a Road Runners Club of America Certified (RRCA) Running Coach.  In 2013, he won the Monmouth Beach 3M, Michael Thorne 4M, Little Silver 5k, finished 3rd overall at the prestigious Spring Lake 5, and finished 4th overall at the George Sheehan Classic.  Robert also competed in the 2013 ING New York City Marathon.  Robert currently resides in West Long Branch and is married with 3 children.

Pete Forgach, Coach

Born and raised in Long Branch, Pete attended Red Bank Catholic High school where he earned All Monmouth County, All Shore Conference, and Parochial Honors. After high school he accepted a scholarship to Monmouth University where he ran Cross-Country, Indoor, and Outdoor Track.  Throughout his college career Pete set multiple course records and earned All Conference recognition during cross-country and track. In 2014, Pete completed the Boston Marathon in a personal best of 2:35:49. Despite his own success in running, Pete’s real passion is helping others reach their own running potential. A USATF certified coach, Pete has coached at running camps all over the east coast, and coached at multiple levels.

Colleen Prior, Coach

Colleen attended Red Bank Catholic where she was a three sport athlete and earned All County, All Shore, and All State honors.  Colleen is a certified high school math teacher and has taught at Red Bank Catholic and Rumson Fair Haven High Schools.  She has been a coach for more than 14 years and in 2013 she completed her first half marathon.  Colleen has a passion for helping runners of all ages reach their running goals.  Colleen is a USATF certified coach, and has coached kids running camps, women’s programs and soccer programs for the last 3 years.   

Marissa Alberti, Coach

Marissa attended Rumson Fair Haven High and competed on the cross country, indoor, and outdoor track and field teams.  She is a Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) Certified running coach and a local elite runner.   Marissa has won the Beauty and the Beach 5k, KDM 3 mile run in Sea Bright, 2nd overall female finisher in the Spring Lake 5 in 2012, third overall female finisher in the 2011 George Sheehan Classic, and finished in the top 10 at the prestigious Newport 10 miler in 2011.  Marissa is a seasoned coach who has taught adults and kids.
